Year: Four

Why Brescia?: Small campus, small classes, great learning environment, helpful staff and faculty, comfortable library.

Enjoys: Life. Food, movement, nature, sleep, creativity.

Places I’ve Been: (aside from Canadian provinces)… United States, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, Cuba.

What I Want to Do In the Future: Continue growing, limitlessly.

Favourite Saying: (one of many)… “A ‘no’ uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a ‘yes’ merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble”. – Gandhi

marie-150Name: Marie

Program: Honours Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics

Year: First

Why Brescia?: I originally was not going to pick Brescia or Nutrition. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I went back for another year and decided that I wanted to take Nutrition. I applied for Brescia as one of my three choices because I live in London but wasn’t fully considering Brescia as my main option. It was only after my cooperative education placement at Brescia’s registrar’s office that I decided Brescia was the place for me. The people were so nice and it felt like home. Now I can’t wait to get started this fall!

Enjoys: I have a lot of interests. I love to cook and try out new recipes and cuisines. I love playing sports (my favourites are soccer and volleyball), I love to travel and meet new people, and I love music.

Places I’ve Been: In Canada I have been to B.C., Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec (I hope to visit every province and territory). Some other countries that I have been to are: USA, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Jamaica.

What I Want To Do In The Future: I want to find out what my interests are in first year and pursue them so that I can try to figure out what I want to do. Some things that are for certain are living a healthy lifestyle, learning french, and enjoying life.

Favourite Saying: My favourite sayings change all the time right now it is “C’est la vie”. I don’t know if that is a saying but it works for me because you have to take the good and bad in life.
